originally started as a revolutionary, new document/agreement collaboration application company with a goal to create highly focused productivity software for legal, business, education and government professionals.

Litéra recognized that knowledge is an organization's most valuable asset yet it is the most difficult to harness because the tools used to collaborate and work like teams have been inadequate.

Founder Deepak Massand, experienced this problem first hand as an executive with 25 years in senior management positions at companies such as Johnson & Johnson. With document-intensive processes such as merger and acquisitions he often found himself asking…

"Why is it that for the third time this week, I am sitting on a conference call with senior executives all around the world, and we can't even manage to look at the same version of a document?"

"Why am I sitting here at 9pm with my administrative staff going through stacks of red-lined documents trying to retrace who requested this change?"

"Why is it so painful to collaborate with other associates, clients and customers?"

Finally, he got so frustrated that he decided to try to solve the problem. In early 2000 Deepak Massand gathered his most capable troops and started a company that actually developed technology solutions based on the real experience, pain, desires and needs of its clients.

Since successfully creating and launching its cutting edge document collaboration application, Litéra has expanded its scope to other areas affecting organizations. Today the company innovates knowledge solutions and collaborative work flow tools, including a suite of off-the shelf products as well as consulting on custom development projects and management of business process outsourcing.
