This user-friendly, desktop based utility provides a mechanism to analyze and clean documents before they are sent out. Metadact® integrates with multiple e-mail systems and users are prompted to remove metadata from documents attached to e-mails prior to sending. Clean and convert files

Clean Office, PDF, image and ZIP files and convert select formats to clean PDF files. Removed tracked changes in Word documents, hidden cells in spreadsheets, confidential information like speaker's notes from PowerPoint and document properties from PDF files.

Choose which types of metadata to cleanse
Select to cleanse comments, form fields, formulas and/or hyperlinks from files. Accept or ignore active track changes in a document prior to cleaning. Create profiles for simple, one-click metadata removal.

View detailed reports
Review metadata detected in documents and save reports for future retrieval. See what types of metadata, how many instances were removed and the context of those instances.

Batch clean
Clean multiple documents from folders, or when emailing, at one time.

Create custom policies and settings - ENHANCED in Metadact 2.1
Create custom policies and settings that allow Administrators to determine what types of files and metadata needs to be cleansed. Control individual users' ability to change, or override, companywide policies and settings. Security settings can also be controlled based on the template used to create a document.

Specify "safe" e-mail domains
Classify select email domains as "safe" and files sent to designated recipients are not cleaned.

Intelligent Content Clean - NEW in Metadact 2.1
Intelligent Content Clean allows user to replace text in Word documents that matches a specific pattern. For example, all Social Security numbers can be replaced with XXX-XX-XXXX. After processing, the user sees a detailed report of every occurrence.

Seamless integration with Explorer and DMS
Cleanse a file without having to open it first with an easy right-click command via Windows Explorer and DMS integration.

Exclusion list - NEW in Metadact 2.1
Allows users to create exclusion lists for select types of metadata like bookmarks, fields, VBA variables and custom properties (Word only). Exclusion lists allow users to apply specific actions, like skip, for select types of metadata.
