Chicago, IL – Litera announced today that Am Law 200 firm Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) will invest in Litera Transact after trialing a lite version as part of Litera’s business continuity initiative. SGR was one of more than 125 firms that signed on to trial the solution at no cost, an offering from Litera that focused on reducing the risk of in-person interactions by providing a virtual workspace for lawyers to continue to serve their clients safely.
SGR joins the hundreds of firms worldwide already using Litera Transact, including Dentons, Clifford Chance, Wilson Sonsini, and Ice Miller, to streamline their transaction management processes and provide a secure, collaborative workspace that enables their lawyers and their clients to consistently manage diverse, large, and complex transactions and close deals faster.
Chris McDaniel, chief information officer with SGR, said, “Litera Transact will transform the way we close deals. Our pilot testing shows that it adds incredible efficiencies and capabilities to the deal closing process. A critical part of the early adoption success is that our legal teams can continue to work deals the way they always have. Litera Transact fits our process; it doesn’t force us to adapt our procedures to it. Litera Transact will also be a key part of SGR’s digital transformation and our less paper initiative. It directly supports today’s work from home requirements, literally providing the ability to ‘close from home.’”
Marc D. Latman, a partner with SGR said, “Smith Gambrell is excited about Litera Transact because after years of looking we have now found a ‘complete’ cloud-based project management product. Litera Transact works with the attorneys and paralegals, it functions the way we operate. We didn’t need training on how we should operate to get the benefit of Litera Transact because it is set up how lawyers manage transactions.”
Avaneesh Marwaha, Litera CEO said, “We’ve seen exponential growth in this space, as law firms look to technology to help improve client service. Litera Transact is helping hundreds of legal teams across the globe manage deals and provide their clients with greater visibility and control of the process. We anticipate this trend will continue and are projecting a further 100% growth over the course of the rest of 2020.”
