Litéra in the Community

We are strongly committed to being respectful global citizens and stewards of the earth.  A portion of our gross profits is given each year to support a variety of charitable organizations around the world. Litéra supports an eclectic mix of causes, philanthropies and programs that we believe are doing a great deal of good to improve living conditions and opportunities to thrive around the world. This support is expressed in numerous ways, including financial donations, contributions and volunteer projects.

Causes Litéra Supports:

Cover the City

Litéra Helps Cover the City Project Provide Blankets for the Poor

Cover the City, a charitable non-profit local to North Carolina, helps provide blankets for the homeless during the harsh winter months of the year. Litéra Corp, with the aid of several Litéra team members in the McLeansville office, donated 96 blankets in the cause of spreading warmth and good cheer this Holiday Season.

Dawn Hudgins, Director of Marketing at Litéra, commented, “Litéra is proud to be a part of such a great initiative. It shows the people of our community care for the well-being of those who are less fortunate within our community. We want to champion the efforts of organizations like Cover the City who are working hard to make a difference in our cities by helping to improve the quality of life of the homeless and the poor.”

Litéra Corp: Granting Children’s Wishes at ILTACON 2015

McLeansville, NC – Litéra grants wishes for children around the world at ILTACON2015, the annual educational conference for the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA).

Litéra hosted a fund-raising event during ILTACON2015’s theme night on Monday, August 31. Vice President of Client Development, Joy Heath Rush, played fairy godmother for the evening, making wishes come true with the push of a button and the wave of a wand.

The theme for Monday night at ILTACON 2015 was Once Upon a Time. Litéra focused on the Happily Ever After of every fairy tale and decided try to make wishes come true of critically ill children. Fairy godmother Joy Heath Rush posed for Polaroid pictures with over 100 attendees. For every attendee that had a picture taken with the fairy godmother and uploaded the image to social media, Litéra made a ten dollar donation to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Thanks to the many ILTACON attendees who visited the Litéra booth Monday night, Litéra generated over $1,000 dollars that will be donated to Make-a-Wish. “What better way to reflect the core values of both Litéra and ILTA than to give back to others,” said Heath Rush, “and participants responded enthusiastically! We were grateful to have such a perfect opportunity to do something good for others.”

2014 Parkinson's Unity Walk in NYC

Our team participated in the 2014 Parkinson’s Unity Walk in New York’s Central Park, to help raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s disease research.

We formed this team because more than one million people in the U.S. are living with Parkinson’s disease. The cause is unknown and while treatment options help to manage symptoms, currently there is no cure. Every walker and donor helped bring the Parkinson’s community one step closer to finding the cause of and cure for Parkinson’s disease.

In addition to supporting these causes, Litéra recently donated significant funds to help alleviate a serious food and nutrition crisis in the Sahel region of Africa where more than 10 million people face food insecurity, and more than one million children are expected to suffer from severe acute malnutrition this year. The Sahel region includes the countries of Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger as well as the northern regions of Cameroon, Nigeria, and Senegal. Learn more about UNICEF’s food, nutrition, and emergency relief efforts in the Sahel and how you can help.

We also respond to causes that our associates and clients support. Some of these include clean water initiatives and schools in underdeveloped or disaster locations as well as support of veterans for our military.
