Here at Litéra, we are really excited about the potential Microsoft Office 365 brings to the market. The ability to work on documents from any device anywhere fits well with our overall product strategy, and is something our clients regularly ask us to improve.
For this reason, we’ve been busy building Litéra Office 365 add-ins. These add-ins are essentially apps that bring our market-leading products to the Office 365 platform and use the power of server-based applications to perform the processing. In doing so, we are making the Office 365 platform a viable option for law firms. With this platform, lawyers will have access to key business tools no matter where they are. They will be able to reduce risk, and have confidence in the integrity and availability of their content.
Our Office 365 add-ins have evolved considerably since we first showed them at ILTACON 2015. Since that time, we’ve been busy adding new products to the mix, increasing functionality and making use of the extra capabilities that Microsoft is adding. If you are interested in seeing the new functionality Microsoft is planning to introduce, it’s worth checking the Office 365 Roadmap website.
A good example of these additions is the new ribbon functionality Microsoft recently made available to 365 developers. This has enabled us to add buttons to the ribbon that interact with and load the add-in pane:
Working diligently to develop and test our applications on Office 365 has given us an in-depth understanding of the platform. Because of our increased familiarity with Office 365, we have made the decision to fully migrate our internal users into the platform over the course of the following month.
Stay tuned for more Office 365 product announcements in the coming months. If you are attending this year’s ILTACON in late August, please visit us and watch as we unveil the latest evolution of the Litéra Apps Launcher and Office 365 add-ins.
