Mon 28 Jul 2025
GenAI Features Are Now Included in All Kira Subscriptions—No Setup Required—Further Enhancing Kira’s Proven Predictive AI And Traditional Search Capabilities, All Powered By Litera AI+

CHICAGO, July 28 - Litera, a global leader in legal technology solutions, continuing its weekly Road to ILTACON series of innovations, today unveiled a comprehensive end-to-end suite of GenAI services to be embedded directly within Kira, the legal industry’s trusted, proven, and future-ready choice for due diligence and contract review. Recognized as a Tier 1 Contract Review provider for the second year in a row by Legaltech Hub’s
2025 Contract Review Competitive Analysis, Kira has solidified its position in the market for functionality in M&A as well as other practices, such as private equity, real estate, and finance, making the most prominent contract review platform even more powerful.

Re-engineering Kira with GenAI services powered by Litera AI+ is intended to support greater productivity and more informed decision-making for legal professionals. By helping streamline workflows, highlight potential risks and trends, and reduce time spent on document review, these enhancements assist legal teams in aligning with client requirements and uncovering valuable insights across a range of document types. Starting July 31, these features will be available for all new and existing Kira customers without needing to provide an Azure OpenAI key.

“The re-engineering of Kira with GenAI represents a transformative leap forward for legal teams everywhere—accelerating contract analysis across languages and jurisdictions,” said Adam Ryan, Chief Product Officer at Litera. “By empowering our users with instant, smarter contract analysis and seamless compliance tools, we are redefining what’s possible in legal technology and ensuring our clients are always ahead of the curve.”

Alongside Kira’s leading smart field technology for clause extraction and firm collaboration workflows, Litera users can leverage large language model (LLM) technology today to:

  • Generative smart fields: Create custom smart fields in any language with a prompt—no coding, no training cycles—faster and easier than ever, unlocking new use cases and accelerating insights across any document type to get answers to any question, even those outside of Kira’s built-in 1,400 smart fields.
  • Grid-based Workflow: This new tabular layout transforms reviews and gives legal teams an instant overview of risks and trends across all documents in a clean, intuitive layout. By displaying extracted language and answers, the structured and flexible approach allows legal teams to quickly locate language, interact with documents through chat, and create smart fields, including Generative Smart Fields, from content in the chart. This enables faster reviews and accelerates the development of insights and more informed decisions. Cloud customers can now preview and provide feedback on the new Analysis Chart.
  • Concept Search: Powerful new predictive AI, built on an LLM, enables legal teams to use just a single example to instantly identify any legal concept across project documents.
  • Project-level GenAI Governance: Legal teams can easily comply with outside counsel guidelines regarding GenAI usage with the flexibility to enable or disable Litera AI+ features for any Kira project.

On July 23, Litera also unveiled Lito — a cutting-edge AI legal agent seamlessly integrated into Litera One. Designed to revolutionize legal workflows, Lito works in perfect harmony with Kira, dynamically adapting to the use case, user scale, and document complexity. Together, they form a powerful duo that transforms how legal teams analyze, collaborate, and deliver results. Also available, Kira’s Rapid Clause Analysis quickly identifies and organizes clauses across documents for legal teams, improving efficiency and consistency. Integrated with Kira Smart Summaries powered by Litera AI+, teams can generate summaries directly from organized clauses for incorporation in client memos. Additionally, Kira’s new search architecture now delivers results in seconds and up to 10 times faster—even in projects with tens of thousands of documents—boosting productivity and enabling advanced GenAI features in Kira’s updated and enhanced interface.
