Governance, Security & Compliance 

Yes. Kira provides flexible governance to toggle GenAI on or off per project, meeting firm or client requirements without impacting ability to use other features in Kira which do not use GenAI . 

Kira supports enterprise-grade security including SOC 2 Type II (and SOC 3), with GDPR/DORA/NIS2 alignment, plus data residency and hosting options. 

Data residency options include the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia Pacific, with flexible hosting to meet sovereignty requirements. 

Kira’s AI approach prioritizes compliance and ensures outputs are trustworthy, never using your data for training, while giving your organization the option to train your own models on your own data.

Workflows 

Kira provides: bulk import with keep-awake, deduplication, data room integrations; triage and organization (classification, tagging, grouping, assignment, language/jurisdiction detection); structured review in the document viewer and Analysis Grid; comparison and redlines; flags/tags; and exports to Word, Excel, PDF.

Kira integrates with HighQ and Intralinks, and offers an Open API for additional or customer integration needs.

Kira also integrates with Litera Transact, enabling users to view contract review progress and number of reviewers directly in the Transact dashboard, reducing context switching and providing you with a complete view of your transactional matter progress.

Kira + Lito 

Lito is Litera’s AI Legal Agent embedded in Outlook, the web and Word, designed for quick, structured reviews (e.g., NDA playbook checks, grid-based multi-document analysis, agentic redlines, risk analysis, term reviews). Kira is a purpose-built platform for for larger-scale or more complex diligence and contract reviews.  

Litera is including Lito at no additional charge for Kira customers: existing customers typically gain access at renewal or sooner on request; new Kira customers get access at purchase. 

Not currently. Lito and Kira operate as separate tools today; connected workflows between Kira and Lito are on the product roadmap.
