In July, our three-day webinar series Ready > Set > Go to ILTACON shared the inside scoop from industry experts and ILTA members on what you can expect at this year’s event.

Check out the recap and listen to the recordings to learn about the first-ever hybrid ILTACON in August.

Day 1 – The inside scoop at ILTACON

The first day kicked off with ILTACON Co-Chairs Michael K. Viscito from Seyfarth Shaw LLP and Martha Breil from Cooley LLP.

Michael and Martha told us about the first year they attended ILTACON, and the happy accidents that lead them to legal tech, and ILTA, in the first place.

Expect to hear about unexpected layoffs and archaeological digs before learning more about what made them want to dive deeper into the ILTA organization.

Michael and Martha also shared exclusive insights into what attendees can expect from the first hybrid event. They covered the event agenda , educational sessions – including the latest changes – and a new app offering direct, live chat with business partners at the event.

Their top tips for getting ready to go to ILTACON included:

  • Learn something new – don’t miss the top-notch educational content
  • Review the session grid and make a plan – after all, there are more than 60 sessions on offer
  • Get breakfast after you hit the keynote sessions – this year’s speakers  are not to be missed

Meet your business partners – use the new interactive Map Your Show tool to know where to go, and check out the Virtual Exhibit Hall if you’re logging in remotely(here is where you’ll find the Litera team at this year’s event )

Also on Day 1, legal industry analyst and podcast host Ari Kaplan facilitated a virtual roundtable for law firm CFOs.

Discussions centered on adapting to the pandemic, sharing best practices around a return to the office, and why the ILTACON Exhibit Hall is the best place to evaluate legal technology solutions.

Day 2 – Community highlights at ILTACON
The theme for day 2 was understanding how both attendees and business partners can get the most out of ILTACON.

Lawyer and journalist Bob Ambrogi spoke with two exhibiting business partners; Foxit and ECFX.

Together, they explained what attendees could expect from the Exhibit Hall, including games, social events, and networking opportunities. They spoke about changes to the Exhibit Hall layout for 2021 and what they mean for attendees and exhibitors.

A tip for exhibitors from Foxit’s Vice President of Corporate Marketing: you only have five seconds when someone walks by your booth to catch their attention and draw them in – so, signage is important.

Litera’s very own Curt Meltzer hosted a CIO Roundtable with John Kuttler, CIO at Finnegan Henderson, and Neeraj Rajpal, Global Legal IT Executive; Chief Information Officer at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, LLP.

The virtual discussions focused on improving the adoption of new and existing technologies within a firm and helping lawyers succeed in a hybrid environment.

Day 3 – Get the most out of ILTACON 2021

Day 3 put the spotlight on the ILTACON sessions we’re most excited about. Sherry Kappel got the inside scoop from ILTA on how the session content is chosen and created.

Caroline Hill spoke with Dawn Hudgins (ILTA VP of Service Delivery) and Beth Anne Stuebe (ILTA Director of Publications and Press) about the challenges of running a hybrid event. They also talked about the positives that having both virtual and in-person elements provide.

Also on Day 3, Joe Borstein shared some tips on how to make the most of your networking opportunities this year in his session, ‘Networking in a high growth environment.’ After a year where everything changed, ILTACON is the ideal opportunity to connect with your peers face-to-face and share lessons learned.
